On October 14th, the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, together with the Regulations Department, held a symposium on animal medicine technology innovation in Beijing, deeply implementing the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, implementing the deployment requirements of the National Science and Technology Conference, the National Agricultural Science and Technology Work Conference, and the Exchange Meeting on Strengthening the Main Position of Agricultural Science and Technology Innovation. They listened face-to-face to the innovative progress and suggestions of animal medicine research institutions and enterprises, and studied and promoted animal medicine technology innovation and high-quality industrial development.
The meeting pointed out that China is a major producer and user of veterinary drugs, and in recent years, there have been fruitful achievements in veterinary drug technology innovation, with strong industrial development momentum. However, compared with the international advanced level and domestic practical needs, China's animal medicine technology innovation capability is not strong, the connection between industry, academia and research is not close, and the competitiveness of enterprises needs to be improved, which affects the development of industrial innovation.
The meeting called for the in-depth implementation of the innovation driven development strategy, enhancing the awareness of technological self-reliance and self-improvement, and taking multiple measures to promote innovation in veterinary medicine technology. We must be committed to building a world-class level of animal medicine innovation, focusing on core technology bottlenecks, urgent pain points, and market growth points, implementing targeted measures, and improving innovation capabilities. We should be committed to building a world-class leading enterprise in veterinary medicine technology, strengthening our position as the innovation subject, increasing investment in resources and factors, strengthening industry university research cooperation, and promoting the transformation and application of achievements. We are committed to providing world-class veterinary drug management services, continuously adjusting and optimizing management systems such as veterinary drug registration and evaluation, innovation protection, etc. in accordance with the requirements of "three reductions and one optimization", strengthening in-process and post event supervision, and building a new type of government business relationship that is friendly, clean and unified.
Leaders from 18 research institutions, universities, and veterinary medicine companies attended the meeting and exchanged speeches. Officials from the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Bureau, Regulations Department, Science and Technology Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, as well as the China Animal Disease Prevention and Control Center, China Veterinary Drug Supervision Institute, and China Veterinary Drug Association attended the meeting.
